GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
The author page on FileZombie.com allows potential readers to
learn more about you and your works. You
can set up your author account here and follow
the instructions on that page. It may
take 10 days to have your author page appear on our site. You can always add or change information to
your author page at any time.
We know that engaging with others online can be at times difficult
and uncivil. The following guidelines
are intended to assist authors in having a positive experience on FileZombie
and to let others know about their books. Please feel free to make your page
fun and personal. If you have any
questions about using the FileZombie’s website, please send us an email or check our our FAQ.
All authors are expected to act in a professional manner and to
refrain from engaging in argumentative or derogative exchanges. The following are a few suggestions for using
our website in a productive manner:
- List your favorite
books or the ones that have inspired you and review them.
- Write a blog or
import your blog. If you already have a blog outside of FileZombie,
set it up to import to FileZombie.
- Allow readers to ask you questions.
- Join a group around
a topic or genre related to your book or a group for authors.
Here are some activities that break our rules and may result in
your account coming under review:
- Don't engage with
people who negatively rate or review your books.
- If you feel a
review is in violation of our Review Guidelines, please flag it to
our team's attention rather than responding.
- Remember that not
every reader will love your book.
- Don't contact
members who have shelved your book or a related work. We consider this
spam, and it will result in FileZombie members flagging your activity for
review.
- Don't send mass
friend requests. Only add other members you are genuinely interested
in following and interacting with.
- Don't join groups
simply to promote your book. Joining multiple groups for the sole purpose
of posting about your own book isn't permitted
- Don't attempt to
influence reviews of your book. You or your publisher may provide free or
discounted copies of your books to readers, but you may not require a
review in exchange or attempt to influence the review. Please note that we
also prohibit paid reviews and reviews that have been incentivized in any
way.
We are glad you are a part of our online community. We hope to
work together to make this site a place where ideas and books can be discussed
civilly and politely and where authors and readers interested in their work can
meet
